Portugal - Fatima to Lisbon

We were lucky that the tour buses were only just arriving so we could get photos without too many people in them. This statue was added in the 1960s of Nuno Periera, who play a key role in the Battle of Aljubarotta and was an important figure from the Middle Ages. He was a brother in the Carmelite community in Lisbon and canonised by Pope Benedict XVI in 2009. He is now known as Saint Nuno of Saint Mary.
